OUR BELIEFS
- It is essential our employees are fit for duty at all times.
- That exceeding specified limits is in breach of policy and safe practice.
Having 29 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, or
Having 13 µg of alcohol per 100 ml of breath, or
39 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of urine, or
Testing positive for the presence of drugs for which there is no legitimate medical need for either their use or the quantity of their use.
OUR COMMITMENT
We will
- Comply with all applicable Acts and industry standards relating to Drugs and Alcohol.
- Communicate this policy to all Employees and other concerned persons.
- Ensure that those we employ are aware of the effects and dangers associated with Drugs and alcohol.
- Ensure we have in place the necessary procedures to prevent breaches of this policy and a monitoring process to measure their effectiveness.
- Ensure no person we employ or engage shall ever report for duty in an unfit state due to alcohol or drugs.
- Ensure no person we employ or engage shall be in possession of or consume drugs of abuse or alcohol whilst on duty.
- Carry out random unannounced testing of those we employ and engage.
- Not tolerate any departure from this policy and take the appropriate disciplinary action in the event of any infringement.
- Provide assistance with the rehabilitation of those who voluntarily seek help for alcohol or drug related problems.
- Employ only approved medical professionals to carry out screenings utilised as evidence in disciplinary action.
- Measure the effect of this policy and its monitoring processes annually, at which time its adequacy will be reviewed.
